Each year, Chinese New Year is celebrated based on the date of the new moon (appearing between 21st January and 20th February).
In 2024, the new year will begin on Saturday 10th February and the celebrations can last up to 16 days.
During this period; there will be no manufacturing completed, or any delivery vessels leaving from our factories in China.
How does this affect your deliveries?
In short – it shouldn’t affect you at all!
We use your forecasted demands, as well as historical delivery data, to work out minimum stock quantities and prepare for Chinese New Year in advance so you should not notice any change to your regular scheduled deliveries.
Providing there are no urgent or increased demands; we should already have stock here in the UK, or already on a boat on its way into us, to be able to meet your delivery requirements throughout the shut-down period.
Contingencies in place
If you do require an urgent order of parts which you would normally have from Asia supply, and you cannot wait the extended lead time over Chinese New Year; we do have machining capabilities in the UK as a contingency option for you.
